The “#Tanahairku” Project was Conceived in conjunction of Malaysia’s Independence Day, 31st August 2014 and Malaysia on 16th september. “Tanahairku” Meaning “My Homeland” was the project by Petronas, The National Oil & Gas Company, the company that owns Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers, it is their yearly Project to do something a campaign for malaysia to celebrate this two festivities, every year they will campaign something to give back to the malaysian people. Last Year’s “tanahairku” Campaign Was a Flash Mob At around malaysia consists of musicians, drumline, singers and dancers.

For This Year Petronas Together With DNAComm and District Shop Gallery got the chance to do something different, for malaysia this is the first biggest Street Art Project ever to be done simultaneously within a week, 14 artist was selected (including district) Was selected to do 6 murals within the city centre, aimed to influence malaysians and other respected visitors, what malaysia means to the artist,Each artist was given a Poem From A National Poet came from before the independence years..we were asked to depict the poem called “tanahairku” read it and intrepid it on our own understandings to the poem. Each murals have different messages from patriotism to the future of malaysian youth. Each Wall is using Montana Gold Cans.

#tanahairku Street Art Episode 2: The Inspiration
Provided by District Shop Gallery as for its quality and durability to withstand our weather. After The Mural Project was done, The video for the #Tanairku Project was Shown Via Youtube Showing the Dramatic Scenes of interviews with the artists perspective on the topic and their contribution to the mural project. when the people of malaysia starting to get in the hype of #tanahairku, taking pictures at the actual wall is like a treasure hunt, hash tagging the pictures #tanahairku in Facebook and Instagram, Petronas decided to reward us by displaying our artworks personal and the project #tanahairku into the Respected highly Exclusive Gallery Petronas inside the twin towers KLCC.

#tanahairku Street Art Episode 3: The Unveiling
This Which was also would be the first for the gallery to display Street art in their gallery. With the help of District Shop and Gallery (District Creative) we collaborated with the gallery petronas to make the exhibition happen, combining the actual style and feel of street art and graffiti, without losing the exclusive feel of a gallery. we managed to joined the two worlds together. and the response was astonishing! the #tanahairku exhibition actually broke the daily visitors records by almost triple! at the launching of the exhibition, one of the walls, the medium touch wall was presented with the malaysian book of record as the biggest mural in malaysia! the exhibition is still on going till 4th january 2015, more and more visitors came to the gallery especially on the weekends and holidays.
