Book Release and Latest Artworks of PichiAvo
The Spanish artist duo PichiAvo, composed of Juan Antonio Sánchez (Pichi) and Álvaro Hernández (Avo), have left an indelible mark on the contemporary art world through their seamless fusion of classical art and graffiti. Their monumental murals and studio creations bridge ancient mythology with the vibrant energy of urban expression, resulting in a unique and powerful visual dialogue between the past and the present. With works displayed in over 25 countries and recent high-profile projects in Paris and Amsterdam, PichiAvo continue to redefine the boundaries of urban art
To celebrate ten years of relentless creativity, PichiAvo have released their first anthology, Our Odyssey, a project that offers an intimate look into their journey as artists.
Our Odyssey: A Selective Catalogue of Works by PichiAvo
Our Odyssey is more than a retrospective—it’s a vivid exploration of PichiAvo’s artistic evolution. This 336-page anthology, featuring over 300 images and contributions from thirteen authors, provides a comprehensive view of their work. From large-scale murals to studio pieces, the book captures the duality of their practice: outward-facing projects in public spaces and inward-focused studio explorations. The title, inspired by Homer’s epic, reflects their journey between their studio in Manises, Spain, and their international projects.
Readers are invited to delve into their creative world and gain an understanding of their artistic philosophy, which intertwines mythology, sculpture, and street art. The book is available in both Spanish and English, making it accessible to a global audience.
The Special Edition: Kivotos
For collectors, PichiAvo offer Kivotos, a limited-edition version of Our Odyssey. The name, meaning “chest” in Greek, reflects its function as a protective vessel for the book and its accompanying signed and numbered print. This exclusive edition is housed in a sculpture-box that is itself a work of art, further emphasizing the duo’s commitment to blending artistry with storytelling.
