A Powerful Fusion of Art and Heritage
Renowned Portuguese artist Add Fuel has teamed up with lettering experts Halfstudio for an inspiring new mural in Bairro da Torre, Cascais, as part of the 2024 Infinito Festival. Titled “O Mundo (Também) é Teu”—“The World is (Also) Yours” in English—the mural carries a resonant message, particularly aimed at the local youth. It emphasizes the idea that the world is theirs to shape, and that their heritage is a source of strength and inspiration.
Add Fuel’s distinctive tile patterns, reimagined from traditional Portuguese azulejos, play a key role in the mural’s design. Drawing from Cascais’ rich cultural history, the tiles create a visual link between the past and the future, reminding the community of the power and beauty embedded in their roots. The combination of Halfstudio’s empowering typography and Add Fuel’s artistic homage to Portugal’s artistic legacy offers a hopeful, vibrant reflection of the community’s potential.
The mural serves as a reminder that dreams, much like the intricately painted tiles, are part of a larger, interconnected mosaic of possibility. It encourages the youth to embrace their heritage, to see the world as a place that belongs to them, and to view their future as something they can actively shape.
Located at Rua das Naus 18, Cascais, the mural wouldn’t have been possible without the support of local organizations like @somostorre_association and @jovem_cascais, as well as the creative backing from Montana Cans.
