This years LiveStyles Hip Hop Festival in Cork, Ireland featured over 30 artists active all over the city. Taking center stage, the dutch boys Nol and Edo definitely made there mark on Cork with there super size and around the corner Spore and Macism were not far behind when it came to scale. Corks hall of fame, White St. car park also got a complete makeover by some of the local talent. Legendary graffiti photographer, James Prigoff (of spraycan art fame) showed up to document some of the weekend’s action. It’s a shame festival organisers didn’t know earlier as possibly it would of been a great chance for a Spraycan Art book signing session. The festival continued well into the evenings with the usual nocturnal antics. The main evening event this year took place in Camden Palace and the whole venue was over taken with all things hip hop. Corks first complete graffiti exhibition, “Know Your Place” took place in the upstairs area, while stage 1 showed some of Irelands best MC’s and Djs. Stage 2 was the epicentre for bboying which saw Corks own Rhythm Rebels bboys take the 2v2 battle. The Last Man Standing battle went to bboy Diego from Barcelona. As always the prize was the now renowned Livestyles painted backpiece jacket which this year was painted at the Sunday bbq by all the guest writers. LiveStyles definitely becoming one of Irelands must go to graffiti jams, was like a blast from the past seeming more like a block party than a festival. Check out more images after the jump…
