The traditional user of spray paint is no longer a graffiti artist from the wrong side of the tracks. Many Fine artists are using Montana Cans for the creation of high end Fine Art. One of these artists whom caught our attention is Steven Cox. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1986. He received his BA in Fine Art Painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee in 2008 and 3 years later obtained a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art Theory and Gallery Curating from Edinburgh College of Art in Edinburgh. Introducing Fine Artist Steven Cox
Steven Cox is a contemporary painter whose work is based on scavenging cities in search of the sublime. His formally abstract painting process reflects his interest in deconstructing lowbrow surfaces that highlight the natural breakdown of materiality. By examining the recyclable potential of found colors, surfaces and textures, Cox creates new and unconventional transferral painting processes that examine the overlap between natural and constructed decomposition.
