In the charming town of Drogheda, Ireland, the Bridge of Peace has undergone a stunning transformation, becoming a symbol of unity and creativity. In October 2023, a group of exceptionally talented artists gathered to create a mesmerizing mural on this iconic bridge. The motto and concept for this pure Graffiti Wall was 50 years of Hip-Hop. We had the pleasure of speaking with one of the main contributors Rask, to learn more about this remarkable project. The Bridge of Peace, spanning the River Boyne, now serves as the canvas for this extraordinary artwork. Residents and visitors of Drogheda are privileged to experience this visual masterpiece every day.
This mural was a collaborative effort by a team of skilled artists, including Rask, Ekto, Chaos, Noka, Reak, Sums, Movs, and Web. Each artist brought their unique style and vision to the project, resulting in a captivating fusion of creativity. The occasion for this remarkable mural was the annual jam, which has been taking place at the Bridge of Peace since 1994. For nearly three decades, this event has been a celebration of art, culture, and community, attracting artists and art enthusiasts from all over the world.
The artists utilized an array of Montana Cans colors to bring their vision to life. Cardinal Red, Bloody Mary, Shark, Mouse, and Rhino formed the backdrop for their work, creating a vibrant and visually stunning mural that captures the essence of the town.
To achieve the level of detail and precision seen in the mural, the artists used Montana Level 1 and Montana Black Stock Fat Caps, ensuring that every line and stroke was executed with precision. When asked about his favorite color, Rask couldn’t help but choose a hue that holds special significance to him – Irish Green. It’s a color that embodies the spirit of Ireland and reflects the beauty of Drogheda’s natural surroundings.
