Adnate is an Australian artist that has not taken the easy path culturally in regard to his artwork. With his roots coming from graffiti and aerosol art, portraying some of the faces of Australia’s indigenous future in the discipline of portraiture is a daunting task. Adnate is always respectfully trying to represent the truths of a past entrenched in atrocities while staying optimistic to the possibilities of a better future for Australia’s indigenous people. His current show at Melbourne’s Metro Gallery is currently running till July 16.
