HERA and LAUREN YS, also known as SQUID.LICKER, teamed up at the Metropolink Festival in Heidelberg, Germany, to create a stunning mural titles “Sharing our Blessings”. Equipped with Montana BLACK and GOLD paint, these two talented artists transformed the commissary at a former US military location into a vibrant work of art. Though the festival officially kicks off on August 25th, HERA and SQUID.LICKER couldn’t wait to bring their vision to life.

HERA from the former Artist duo HERAKUT, a Frankfurt-born German-Pakistani painter with roots in Graffiti and street art, hosted Lauren YS during her stay in Germany. Spontaneously joining forces, they painted a mural that captures their unique styles and the dynamic energy of their collaboration. The outcome is a powerful and colorful piece that has already captivated viewers.

Lauren YS is a Los Angeles-based artist whose diverse background influences her work. With a rich history in academics, literature, writing, teaching, illustration, and animation, Lauren’s journey to the urban art sphere has shaped her robust style of murals and fine art. Her work draws inspiration from dreams, mythology, death, comics, love, sex, psychedelia, animation, and her Asian-American heritage.

Lauren’s impressive resume includes a residency and solo show at NychosRabbit Eye Movement studio in Vienna. She has showcased her work and live-painted at numerous international art festivals and institutions, such as Art Basel Miami, Pow!Wow! Hawaii, PangeaSeed SeaWalls in New Zealand, Pow!Wow! Long Beach, and Wallskar Festival in China. Her murals can be found in prestigious locations like the Long Beach Museum of Art and the World Trade Center in New York. Lauren’s art has been exhibited in galleries across the United States and in international cities, including Vienna, New York, London, Tokyo, and Melbourne.
