You can claim lockdown on a city, but only writers know how to keep it on lock. It’s February 2021, and in Berlin, the trees are still bare of leaves. The streets are a lot emptier than ever before and wearing a mask all the time is starting to suck. But that doesn’t stop the 200 crew members Lugosis (Lugo) and Strato from continuing to keep the German capital on lock. Or at least a part of it with the luscious colors of the Montana BLACK range which they love so dearly. You can claim lockdown on a city, but only writers know how to keep it on lock.
Northern Italy was hard hit at the beginning of the Corona crisis, but that doesn’t seem to keep the Italian spirit from finding ways to be creative and have fun. Especially when the Italian artists are abroad in Berlin. And connecting these two notions (fun and creativity) is what Lugo and Strato do best. With that rustic look of the standard cap, next to orange/black fat cap fills and skinny cap details, the artists always manage to keep it personal and dynamic.
Nothing can stop them, except for running out of paint
The occasional character and plenty of tongue in cheek humor guarantee there is always something for everyone to look at. Is it new school, is it old-school? The question remains yet to be answered, nor do they seem to care what the answer could be. As long as there is paint in the can, the duo keeps on creating. Take a look here at some of the recent works that popped up in 2020/21.
